Apparently the primary benchmarks for "realistic graphics" is to make every shiny surface as reflective as a bathroom mirror, outrageous levels of bloom, and light shafts. I have seen real "light shafts" about five times in my life, and they were all during incredibly foggy or dusty weather events. "Light shafts" don't just appear in tropical climates or cities during clear, normal conditions.
