This is going to sound negative and I don't mean it to be! I think you've got a great start and clearly have the ability to render fine details. My biggest suggestion is to focus on that less so that your forms and sculptural elements have depth. Right now it comes off very flat. Consider the eye focus and rendering only where you want focus with those fine details. General to specific, broad strokes to fine. Blah blah blah. I love the detail and back story, you are clearly passionate about character design! 💪
