I ate this fruit on the Marshall Islands and the Marshallese spell it "bob," but pronouce it more like, "bub." You cut the very end of the orange part of fruit away with a knife and suck on the fibers. Those fibers aren't consumed and the fruit, frankly, tastes like pure sugar to the dome. Like skittles. Kids get it as an occasional treat. These pods, as depicted in the photo, hang pretty low from the tree and you can outright knock yourself out running at night.
