I was moving once so I had to sell a lot of my stuff. I had a PS One with a bunch of games that I was selling for $5, and someone told me they wanted it. They day before they were supposed to pick it up they asked if I would mail it to them, and were surprised when I said it wasn’t worth my time for the $5.
This sums up my entire experience with trying to sell, give away, volunteer, etc... in Columbus.
Selling After negotiating & settling upon a price Oh why are you selling it at such a high price? Other people are selling theirs for only 1/3 of what you’re asking for. - Then go buy it from other people!
Giving away How big is [item]? What are the exact dimensions so I can see if [item] will fit in my car else I’d have to wait til [mom/girlfriend/buddy] get home & borrow their car. Oh you’re located where? Nah, that’s too far, I can’t afford the gas to get there. Why don’t you just bring it to me at [address in a very rough neighborhood]. - Hell no! I’m not dropping off this free [item] for you!
Volunteer We are only looking for people who can commit at least 30-35 hours a week - our hours of operation are Mon-Fri 9:00-5:00. If you can’t commit to that don’t even bother apply. - I was in between jobs but even then... wtf?
