Old fridges are power hogs because their insulation (esp around the door) is shit.
I'd love to be able to buy a modern fridge enclosure with the 50's level of quality on the bearings and compressor.

Could you maybe put an Electricity Usage Monitor on it some time? I hear this energy usage argument so often, but never heard of someone who verified it.
