Data was collected by me, I had a daily routine of entering how many hours I spent studying into Excel before going to bed. I rounded to the nearest half hour. Exam class' statistics are emailed to us by our school's block director, this is how I got the class average.

Edit: Long-time lurker of this sub. First post. I hope I am complying with the OC rules.

Edit 2: The bottom right graph showing "points above/below average" is referring to the percentage not individual questions. On that same graph (bottom right), each point stands for the tests in the order that I took them in.

Edit 3: We take exams every two weeks. I do not attend lectures and only watch the recorder versions online. Because I am actively pausing the lecture and making Anki cards, I count that time as studying. We have a couple of group activities each week, those I do not count as studying.

I remember my first semester of med school. I studied like a beast. Then I realized that it only made a marginal difference in my scores. I probably dropped my study time by 80%. Scores went down maybe 2%. Happiness went up tremendously. You should keep this tracking going through your second year, but also note your stress/happiness level. Gotta keep that balance so you don’t burn out.

Instead of number of points above or below average, you should've used number of standard deviations, or your Z score
