Me and my friends found an octagon barreled late 1800's rifle leaning against a tree in the Siskiyou wilderness about 10 years ago. It's still there, although we hid it a little bit better. Stock was completely rotted off (this is in a much wetter climate), and all the actions were rusted shut. But still, it was a find. We just never contacted anybody about it. We return to the area and look at it every time we return (which is every year), but we just leave it there.
