Okay let me preface this by saying, I do not support Trump in any way. However, you can not look at the popular vote and say Clinton should have won because she had more votes. Every single person involved in both parties’ campaigns knew that the electoral vote is what matters, so their entire campaign strategy was based around securing electoral votes. Running in a race that is solely based on popular vote requires a very different campaign strategy and both parties would have undoubtedly made very different choices. I am not saying Trump would have won the popular vote by any means, all I’m saying is that we really can’t know the outcome had the race been run for the popular vote.
