I highly recommend that if you find yourself in Istanbul that you take some time to relax in Taksim Square, grab yourself a simit and hope the local strays bless you with their company. They all have their shots and are super chill.

My dad lived in Turkey for a few years and he told me the stray dogs were quite nice. I never got to go visit, I wish I had. When we lived in morocco it was the complete opposite. Dogs where vicious and very ragged. Sometimes you would find nice dogs here and there. But most of them were mean and didn't like humans. My parents had adopted a puppy a family friend had found in a garbage bin. Sent me pictures while I was in college and watched it grow from this scrappy little puppy into this pretty dog. Anywho I'm ranting and reminiscing. Back to work. :)
