This has to be one of the best lit nature photos I have ever seen. I still can’t believe that’s not a painting. Congrats on seeing such a beautiful sight and thanks for sharing.

Fun fact:

The face you’re looking at actually used to be the seafloor hundreds of millions of years ago (~400). With the pressure of constant westerly tectonic movement and different land masses colliding with the west coast, it eventually folded inward. If you go to the other side of the mountain you’ll see sedimentary layers that resemble the layers of a cake, these are the sediment deposits on the sea floor. Just picture your carpet when a piece of furniture slides into it. There are several continuous ridges like the one in the pic that stretch for over 35 km.
