Someone told me in the earlier episodes/seasons you see him jogging with a woman who you would assume is his wife. After a while it's just him, then he says this. I don't know if it's intentional, but it's a nice touch.
Its ironic because the show is so cynical and self-loathing, one of my favorite parts about the show are the little moments with positive people saying real shit.
Definitely not what i expected when i first started this show.
