Former apple employee here . Grey bar was a thing although it’s hilarious that this was a screenshot as a wallpaper.
It only was relevant in normal 6 plus so if you have an iPhone and it’s not a 6 plus your 99.9% safe lol

I’m currently typing with a 6 plus that has the grey bar of death. I opened it up and applied the old quick fix. There are no good technicians nearby :(
