This is incredibly beautiful. I love how you were able to capture a subtle gradation of colour where most wintry snow photos are just stark black and white. The values from dark to light are so lovely. Thanks for the new wallpaper!

Oh Boy! I went to sleep right after I posted this and just woke up to all of those lovely comments :)
Let me try to answer most questions:
The photo was taken yesterday in the local forest of Marburg, Hessen (the "Teufelsgraben" which translates to "Devils Trench")
I use a Canon Eos 550d and a 55-200mm lens
I edited the photo using Lightroom CC
Yes we have white walkers here in Germany, the situation seems hopeless, please send help!
