In my city the roads have paint on them where it isn't even. So that bikers don't hit an unexpected bump. I have no idea who goes around and does this, but I doubt it is the city.
I know a guy like this. We play in a band together and whenever there is a permanent trip hazard backstage at a venue he puts bright yellow tape down, even though we live in other states. 4 years later that tape is still down at all the venues when we come back.
I don't know why but this reminds me of what one man did along a major road. The neighborhood was separated by a hilly, undeveloped area and there was no sidewalk for people to navigate along the road. He carved a sidewalk along the hills for about 500 feet and it was hard. I'd drive past the job and there'd be this old man with a hoe and shovel hacking away at the hill. And he did it! Soon people were running along the path and pushing strollers. It took 20 years for the city to put in a walk. I'm sure he saved many people from getting hit.
