I don't know what the people in this thread are going on about, but this is basically the most Episcopalian thing any Episcopal Church has ever done.
This is also not a new thing for St Thomas. We had THREE presidents attend it (FDR, Wilson, and Truman), and as a church it has long been in the practice of involving itself in politics in the regards to human rights. It's sort of one of the benchmarks of the Episcopal Church. You want to hear the official thoughts of the church on this? Listen to Presiding Bishop Michael Curry speak in sermons about the president. It's pretty clear where the Episcopal Church as an organization stands.
