Bloody hell. Made my day. Saw the original post this morning and was wondering if Tonka would react at all. This goes above and beyond. The internet can be a glorious place from time to time.

Early in their marriage, my parents were fairly poor. I was a toddler, and it was near Christmas, and my family was driving home from work, and my mom ran in to a hardware store to get something or other, and she saw this whole bin of Tonka trucks for sale, like 90% off or something, but still a few bucks each (this was the 70s when that was still something to consider). Not having much money, my mom was trying to decide if she could afford to get me one for Christmas. So she got my dad to come in and help her pick one.

He looked at the bin and said, "Let's get one of each."

It helped my mom feel like they were going to do okay raising me, even though times were tough right then.

Thanks, Tonka, for giving my mom the ability to feel like she could take care of her son for Christmas. I can't imagine a much better present.
