I don't get what she's trying to say. That football players aren't fighting in a real war? That kaepernick's fro is so powerful it could do double duty as a bulletproof helmet? That he's paying respect to the people that gave their lives in WWII?
The one thing I keep yelling at anyone who is listening is "WHAT THE FUCK DOES A FOOTBALL PLAYER'S PROTEST AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY HAVE TO DO WITH THE TROOPS?"
It's not like he drove to Fort Bragg and broke down the gate and kneeled for Taps. The dude is at a FOOTBALL GAME. The dude is not at an Army base. It has nothing to do with the military. Nobody says "Ladies and gentlemen, please stand and remove your caps as we honor the Army with the singing of the Army Hymn."
No, it's the AMERICAN FLAG. FOR ALL AMERICANS. IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MILITARY.
Edit: and as I should have added, as someone else was good enough to mention, a former US Army Green Beret is the one who urged him to use his platform to do exactly what he's doing: Take a kneel.
