I tell people this story of my first trip in Edinburgh. I was going to London for study abroad and i talked to a girl who had already been there. She immediately told me I need to go to Edinburgh. "It's like a fairy tale city you think youre going to see dragons." My immediate response was, alrighf, you're overselling it a bit. Calm down. I won't go into a ton of detail, but an hour into my walking around I was expecting to see dragons.
From the castle entrance area if I am not mistaken, nice shot. It is a pretty special city to visit.
However, a reality check for folk thinking about moving here: living in these fairy tale houses is a pain at times with mice and broken boilers being common. This was my experience when I actually made the move. The positives are pretty special too (easy access to one of the most beautiful countries in the world, a culturally rich city to live in).
Always love seeing my hometown get some recognition on this sub :)
Not living in Edinburgh makes me appreciate it much more when I'm back, highly recommend a visit if anyone gets the chance. Just be prepared for the wind.
