The actress Uma Thurman has hinted she was a victim of sexual assault as she broke her silence on the allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

The American film star suggested she was preparing to speak out about her own experiences in a message on Thursday evening, saying: "When I'm ready, I'll say what I have to say... stay tuned".

Dozens of actresses, including Rose McGowan, Asia Argento, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cara Delevingne have accused Mr Weinstein of harassment and assault.

Mr Weinstein is also reported to have paid at least eight women money to settle sexual harassment claims spanning across two decades.

Earlier this month Thurman said she was too angry to share her thoughts on the slew of allegations that that have rocked Hollywood.

But in an Instagram post on Thursday night, the actress broke her silence, writing: "Happy Thanksgiving Everyone...Except you Harvey, and all your wicked conspirators".

"I'm glad it's going slowly - you don't deserve a bullet," she added.

Geez that photo has really gone from slightly weird to extremely sinister.

I really am quite glad that after all these years of his actions being an "open secret" he's finally seeing some consequences. The man systematically used his power to abuse people over decades to abuse people. I just wish that more of his support network were getting their names dragged through the dirt for helping him maintain this.
