I was actually at that show. It was the second time I had seen Pink Floyd and all I can say is wow. I was 16/almost 17 at the time and was traveling around Italy, staying with relatives, when I saw it advertised. I said, “Fuck it!” Hopped on a train from Pesaro and went.
Coincidentally I met my prom date there and ran into a high school classmate of mine.
Has it really been 28 years. Fuck.
Edit: the location in OP is left of where I was. I was sitting not in Piazzetta San Marco, but Punta della Dogana. The barge was far enough out that I did have a decent view of the stage.
Edit 2: I also recall the day coinciding with the patron saint day too. After the concert there was the most incredible firework show. A lot is coming back to me now.
