Gamecube was the first console I ever got that was my own. Growing up with an older brother, I used to really just watch him play all the games he got growing up. Then for on my 10th birthday, I remember lining up at 7am with my dad and brother at Toys R Us while we waited for it to open. I was second in line. I was so excited when we finally got it and brought it back home. When we first booted it up, I was blown away by the startup screen, and seeing the graphics in Luigi's mansion was amazing. I was in awe. My Gamecube gave me years and years of fun with friends and family, and it still proudly sits on my entertainment center today. Happy 16th Birthday Gamecube!
Such an underrated console. The design and look of the controller were funny to some people, but the list of great games on this... Luigi's mansion Mario sunshine Eternal darkness Wind waker Metroid prime Smash bros Paper Mario I know I'm missing a lot more...
Metroid Prime is the gaming experience I will chase for the rest of my life. I cannot praise the design or ambiance of that game enough. And the soundtrack PERFECTLY complimented the level design. It wasn't overt or overwhelming, it blended with the ambiance perfectly and only added to an already great game.
I don't think I will ever find a game I love more.
