In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place: and in the sky

The larks still bravely singing fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: Short days ago,

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved: and now we lie

In Flanders fields!

Take up our quarrel with the foe

To you, from failing hands, we throw

The torch: be yours to hold it high

If ye break faith with us who die,

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields

-John McCrae

Thank you to all who served, your sacrifices won't be forgotten.

It's hard to carry a mate to their final resting place. This pic made me tear up, tell everyone you care about that you love them because you just never know.

Thanks to Canada 🇨🇦 my family made it out of The Netherlands 🇳🇱. My great grandfather hid Jews on his farm during the war and somehow never got caught. My grandfather mentions seeing the soldiers from Canada come liberate them in his youth. He eventually immigrated to Canada in the 80s due to his love for Canada and up until the day he passed, he would speak in front of the cenotaph at every remembrance day ceremony to commemorate the men who saved our family from living hell. Thanks 🇨🇦. Strong and Free.
