Olympic Medalist Aly Raisman Says Larry Nassar Sexually Abused Her

In August, she told The Guardian that “what people don’t realize is that this doctor was a doctor for 29 years.”

“Whether or not he did it to a gymnast, they still knew him. Even if he didn’t do it to you, it’s still the trauma and the anxiety of wondering what could have happened. I think that needs to be addressed,” she said. “These girls, they should be comfortable going to USA Gymnastics and saying ‘I need help, I want therapy. I need this.’”

Raisman has been an outspoken advocate for survivors of sexual abuse.

Man, I was so proud of how vocal she was about USA Gymnastics mishandling of this whole situation. Terribly saddened to hear that it was coming from a deeply personal place. But with McKayla Maroney, one of her Olympic teammates coming forward about the abuse, it really isn't a surprise.

This is just sickeningly awful. He had over 27,000 images that he was already arrested for.

Disgusting.

I don't want to be jaded but there are an awful lot of coaches, trainers and other men involved in young women's athletics that seem to be way more interested in the girls than the athletics.
