Samsung’s working on a full-screen compact smartphone, according to esteemed tipster Ice Universe; however, there’s no guarantee that the handset, which is rumored to tout a sub-5-inch Infinity Display, will actually hit the shelves.

Ice Universe wasn’t able to confirm the identity of the unit, but we think it’s safe to rule out the upcoming Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A7 (2018), because they’re tipped to feature a 5.5-inch and 5.7-inch Infinity Display, respectively.

Some believe that we could be looking at the Galaxy S9 Mini, although that’s a bit of a far-fetched assumption, seeing as Samsung decided against releasing a Mini variant of this year’s Galaxy S8. That’s not to say it isn’t possible, though.

For now, we’re going to reserve judgment. We’d love to know what you think. Could this be the Galaxy S9 Mini? Or maybe even the elusive Galaxy A3 (2018)? Be sure to drop a comment in the section below–or send us a message on Twitter.

man I remember when Dell Streak came out with its enormous 5" screen that was too ridiculous to use. Now it's the lower end on the size scale.

Edit: a word

There were rumors of a S7 and an S8 mini but both of those fell through. Fingers crossed though

S# Mini rumors show up every year for the last few years and never materialize. I'll believe it when I see it.
