I make 42k a year before taxes and I can't afford to insure my family, but I make too much money for Texas medicaid.
The cost to insure my children and myself through my employer is $421 a month, $741 for just me and my spouse, or $1066 for my whole family. That's the lowest tier plan they offer, with 20% coinsurance and a $5000 deductible.
It's shameful that there we don't have cradle to grave medicare for all.
