Once, I got a call from a company I interviewed with and could not pick up on time. The HR woman left a message saying they wanted to hire me and I should call back to give them some extra info so they could draft the contract etc. I called within 2 minutes of her call. No answer. Called again in 10 to not seem desperate. No answer. Called again and again. I continued to call for the entire week, trying different times of the day and got no answer. I was sure that this was a cruel joke. So I sent an email to another HR person whose email I found online and she tells me, “yeah, that person had a baby, she has been working from home and keeps giving her office number.” She then took over my file and it ended well. But for that week, I was confused and stressed out of my mind as to why they would do such a thing and why someone else would not answer her damn office phone.

Gotta wonder how often people don't reply to John Mayer's text messages...
