Yeah except if the Earth were to immediately stop spinning, everything (including the atmosphere) would fly sideways at 1,000+ mph so you get 1000mph winds as well as flying people. And since there’d be rubble everywhere from destroyed structures, it probably wouldn’t be long before you hit something or something hit you and you died
