Police have reportedly apprehended a suspect after a knife attacker wounded multiple people in Munich.
Authorities launched a manhunt after six people were attacked on Saturday morning in the Rosenheimer Platz area of the Bavarian capital.
Four people are thought to be injured but none sustained life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
Munich police spokesman Marcus da Gloria Martins said: "We have arrested a person who very strongly resembles the description by witnesses, but we cannot confirm that he is the attacker."
Earlier, Munich police urged residents to stay indoors while the attacker remained at large.
The suspect was described as an unshaven, "corpulent" man in his 40s, with medium blonde hair.
He was reportedly wearing grey trousers, a green jacket and a backpack with a rolled up sleeping mat and fled the scene on a black bicycle.

Munich police said they had received conflicting reports of the direction in which the attacker fled.
It was unclear whether the man arrested is the same man in the police descriptions.
The police department said on Twitter that officers were looking for the man "with all available police forces" but that his motive remained unclear.

The knifeman is a German who had already drawn the attention of the police to himself, because of drug-related crimes, theft and assault. Victims are only slightly injured. 4 Victims are German, 1 is from Romania and 1 from Italy. One victim is a child.

Seems to be a 40 year old with a bike and a roll mattress/sleeping mat/yoga mat.
Suspect has been arrested, 33 year old German and apparently known to police for theft, drugs and aggravated assault, also mentally ill.
8 people with light injuries, nothing serious.
Nothing hinting at a political, terrorist or similar motive (really there doesn't seem to be any motive at this point).
Pretty boring all in all, move along citizen.
