Travelers and locals alike will definitely agree on one thing about Japan: vending machines are truly everywhere. Here's a couple guarding an empty corner in Higashiyama Ward, not far from Kiyomizu-dera and Yasaka-no-To.

Those warm drinks in cans are god sent during cold season. I love hugging them instead of drinking the contents.

Very true. I once hiked a mountain in Japan and there were vending machines at the top.
