I find outlandish pickup lines generally lower the chances of ever getting a reply but also sort of filter in the people with the coolest personalities. I feel like if I say the first and weirdest thing that comes to my head it should at least cause some banter and back and forth. People try too hard to be normal, and then bitch about how small talk is boring.
