Because I was asked so many times how someone can start with photography. Here is an answer I replied: I taught myself everything I know using Youtube and a LOT of inspirations from other photographers. My current gear is a7rii and mostly the 2470gm lens. I started with photography 5yrs ago and am spending almost every evening with processing. On weekend I go out and shoot. Often together with my girlfriend and son. :) Some hints: try to copy stuff you like in the beginning. The more you copy the more you will find your own style that differs from the shots you like get a prime and don’t buy a zoom. The prime forces you to see with your eyes and not with your viewfinder and zoom! This is VERY important. Long time i only shot with 35mm and nothing else. Don’t try to go to “special places”. Shoot what you see every day and try to make this special. Buy a cam you ALWAYS can have with you: Em10, x100f, rx100v. Only buy a bigger (more expensive) cam if the small cams do not fulfill your needs anymore, but this will take a looooong Time. Trust me. Process EVERY day one shot. Even though it is not a great shot. Just try to work on it. Limit your processing to a maximum of 30mins. If you need more, it is not worth it!
