"We're all going to die, do whatever you want." is a little bit of an easier life motto when you're 79 years-old.

Anyone else feel a little concerned with the “delicious food” comment?

Funny. Someone recently posted a shot of the same words found in their deceased mom's diary (https://www.reddit.com/r/GetMotivated/comments/6aq640/image_we_buried_mum_today_we_found_this_in_one_of/). Looked like it were her own words, but apparently they were Hopkins' all along.

Or not? Quick google search indicates they were also Richard Gere's words (http://theageofhappiness.com/posts/richard-gere-please-stop-treating-yourself-like-anafter-thought/roXd1WnJa4) and Keanu Reeves' words (no. 4 on http://soulspottv.com/blog/keanu-reeves-shares-5-incredible-pieces-of-wisdom/).

Haven't dared to dig any deeper.

Edit1: It's a conspiracy! And apparently Tupac, Colin Farrell & Christopher Walken are in on it as well!

Edit2: u/mmutk, u/DorkSidedStuff and u/acidgut have all pointed out that this quote originated with Nanea Hoffman. I’ll quote (!) u/mmutk:

Oddly enough this statement is copyrighted by Nanea Hoffman. The founder of http://SweatpantsAndCoffee.com and She wrote that on May 9, 2015 and put it on the Sweatpants & Coffee Facebook page, where it then went viral. Sites like Sun Gazing reposted the words without her name on it. It has since been incorrectly attributed to Richard Gere, Keanu Reeves, Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren.

Our work is done, good Reddit dwellers.
