An idea for your apartment... My sister has cerebral palsy and one year for Christmas I gave her my Amazon echo and set her up with smart lights. The coolest part about it is you can configure the lights to be voice activated! It's been a nice quality of life inprovement for sure as she can't get out of bed on her own once she is laying down so she gets an extra layer of Independence from it. Every little bit helps my friend! Sounds like you are on the right path and best of luck!
