This image is from 2012, and the guy is a 62 year old retired intelligence/detective-type dude from Taiwan. He took his Mom to the hospital in a sling because she'd broken her leg and was not comfortable in a wheelchair. (The leg on the left looks awkwardly bent). Image went viral in Taiwan. A few days after that, she passed away :(

15 years ago, my dad said if he didn't know who my brother and I were anymore, he'd want to kill himself. A few years after that he got alzheimer's. He ended up not really being able to speak and lost mostly all of his functions. I had to feed him when I visited and my brother had to help bathe him. He never seemed to be in his body anymore except when he heard the music he used to enjoy. He passed away in 2013. This picture made me cry and made me miss him dearly.

It makes me think of that children's book "Love You Forever." I can't read that shit to my kid without crying.
