Was eating my Chinese food when this little Asian woman working behind the counter stopped taking orders to help an elderly man navigate the rainy walk to his seat. She was incredibly patient with him during his slooooow order and even brought his food outside for him. Faith in humanity restored.

Nearly every restaurant I worked at, we had that special customer who would come in every day, at the exact same time, and order the exact same thing. We had a guy who was about 90, come in, order coffee, a truffle, small cup of borscht, and he'd paint. He'd sit at his usual spot for about 3 hours. We loved him. We were his 'family', he outlived the rest of them, even his children, who never had children.
