Tom Petty is still reportedly clinging to life after reports of his death were said to have been confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department and CBS News.

CBS News posted that Petty’s death was confirmed but TMZ reported that its sources are claiming that Petty is still clinging to life.

Petty, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench first came together in the early seventies as “Mudcrutch” in their hometown of Gainesville, Florida.

After recording a couple of singles as Mudcrutch, the group disbanded but later came together and renamed themselves as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Petty once said, “I’d like to see us break some new ground and leave some sort of mark on the music. »
