The card said “The port city of Cherbourg, France was one of several objectives of the US Army following the Normandy amphibious landings. Logistically it was the most important city on the Cotentin peninsula, key to transport of men and supplies across the English Channel. Allied troops, after a month of hard fighting, reclaimed the city of Cherbourg on July 1, 1944.

This build depicts a pair of M4 Sherman tanks advancing along the battered Rue du Val-de-Saire in the Tourlaville district of Cherbourg on June 26, 1944.

Custom and original design”

Artist’s name is Paul Rizzi.

Wow. That's really cool. I'm so used to seeing Lego builds display creation and models of awesome and huge things. Seeing them represent destruction, at least on some level, strikes me deeply.
