Right before you tighten the knot, pinch the sides of the long end of the tie in toward the center with your thumb and middle finger. You want to do this in the area right under the knot. Simultaneously, use your index finger to press down on the center. This creates an M-shaped fold. The fold will lock into place as you tighten the knot and it gets pulled up into it. This will give you that classic dimple down the center that is synonymous with the half-Windsor.
