Trump appears to delete tweets backing Strange after primary loss

President Trump on Tuesday apparently began deleting his tweets supporting Sen. Luther Strange Luther Johnson StrangeMoore laments racial division between 'reds and yellows' Corker pressed as reelection challenges mount Trump to visit Alabama in support of Strange MORE (R-Ala.) in Alabama's Senate GOP primary runoff after Strange lost the race to former state Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore.

Trump had tweeted about Strange several times in the days leading up to the primary, including the day of, but those tweets had disappeared as of Tuesday night.

The deleted tweets included those he sent the night before the election and the day of the race. A project from ProPublica documents the deleted tweets.

“Big election tomorrow in the Great State of Alabama. Vote for Senator Luther Strange, tough on crime & border — will never let you down!” read one of the deleted tweets.

Older Trump tweets backing Strange remained live as of Tuesday evening.

Trump tweeted congratulations to Moore on Tuesday night. The president had promised to back Moore if he won the race.

Strange’s loss was also the first time a Trump-backed candidate has lost a special election since Trump took office.

Of course. Of literally everything he ever tweeted, he decided to delete the tweets in support of the candidate that didn't win. What a loyal guy.

He's gonna say he supported the other guy the entire time next week.
