If you ever get a chance to go to Las Vegas, grab a rental (car, van, horse, mule, hooker... whatever you can drive to the dam) and take the Hoover Dam tour. It's amazing.
There are tour busses but the cost is about the same, time commitment much higher, and hassle of dealing with other tourists sucks.
