It is such an infantile argument too. "Im voting no, not because I have a problem with gay marriage, but because advocates for gay marriage are too aggressive". It's the adult, democratic version of a dummy spit.

I had a regular at my pub tell me he is "sick of all the gays throwing their demands" in his face so aggressively, that he wants to vote no just so they'll shut up and get a result. One of our other regulars, the father of a gay son, pipes up and says "maybe you should stop throwing your straight demands and expectations in their faces. Give them marriage and they'll stop campaigning, ya dumb cunt"

I cracked up laughing and just said "he's right, you know"
