Something similar happened to me. I went to pay for the flowers, the girl at the checkout asks "What have you done wrong?" and I told her they were for my grandpa's grave. Wee bit awkward after that. Boot.
Myself and 3 friends all went to ASDA to buy some cheap black suits for a themed night out.
The woman at the till noticed we were all buying them and said something like "oh are you guys going somewhere nice.... oh no it's a funeral isn't", you could feel her just start to feel so bad about saying it.
She cheered up when we told her it was just for costumes. Bless her lol.
