I did this to my sister and her friends when they were watching the original in the basement during a sleepover. I tapped on the basement window lightly until they were so creeped out they ran upstairs. I then snuck in the basement door and put a balloon off in the corner, out of the way, and hid myself under a pile of blankets near the TV.
After checking out the noise, they all came back downstairs and started the movie again. One of them saw the balloon, and it all fell into place perfectly.
"Was that always there?"
"I think so... I'm not sure..."
"Guys I don't think it was there before..."
"This is really scary."
Right then I slowly sat up, still covered in blankets. I'll never forget the screams. They ran straight back upstairs, crying. I peaked that night.
