You miscount. "One hundred" is two words, not one hyphenated word. When he says "I have used twenty", "twenty" is itself the 20th word, which makes Ron's count accurate. "Continue", which comes directly after "I have used twenty", is the 21st. Makes more sense this way.

I remember seeing a gif that counted every single word from that conversation. IIRC he stopped the conversation at 100 words exactly
