That's just about the coolest damn thing I've ever seen. That dog would give his life and more to make sure his friend is safe. I'd be tempted to pet him if I wasn't afraid he would relocate my jugular.
I manage a pet emergency center. I saw a war dog that was back maybe 3 weeks. It was completely restless in the exam room. The soldier said he was not going to settle until he cleared the hospital. The dog was anxious to know its surroundings. I walked him around the entire hospital while he smelled various things. 5 minutes later we returned to the room and he laid down. One of the coolest things I have ever seen.
