Sun Chips, Moon Pies, and Eclipse gum. Never too old for mom jokes I guess.

My work was giving away eclipse glasses but ran out fairly quickly. An elderly woman came in towards the end of the eclipse and asked if we had any glasses. I told her we had run out, but there were plenty of people outside who I'm sure would be more than happy to let her take a look (everyone was being very generous with sharing glasses). She said ok and went outside, but then I saw her go straight to her car and just sit in the drivers seat.

I assumed she was too shy to ask anyone, but didn't want to leave because she really wanted to see the eclipse. I started getting really sad thinking about this elderly woman missing the eclipse because she was too shy. She might not be around for the next one in seven years. So I went outside, asked someone if I could borrow their glasses, went to her car and knocked on the window, and told her I got a pair for her to check it out.

The way her face lit up when she got out and took a look made my entire day. I'm so happy I went out there. And I got to pet her little dog!

Edit: I'm not usually one to add edits, but wow! Thank you, kind strangers! I'm so happy to see how much this eclipse has brought people together and brought out so much positivity!
