Alright so here is a little background information. The Opabin Plateau is a small area in the Lake Ohara valley. Square foot for square foot it is probably the most beautiful place in the canadian rockies. I was lucky enough to call in and snag two nights worth of reservations for the campgrounds, so I didnt have to make the 16 mile hike in and out.

The Opabin Plateau is, in my opinion, the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I walked in there during sunset and it felt like a different planet. Untouched by humans aside from the trails. The rivers flowing from the Opabin glacier carry sediment which gives the far away pond its teal color. You could literally see streams of blue where the silt was being deposited from the rivers. It was incredible.

I am fully intending on heading to that area again, but in the fall when the larches turn golden. I absolutely cannot wait to be back!
