These are U.S. Troops at Camp Nelson in Jessamine County in Kentucky. More than 23,000 black Kentucky men joined the Union Army during the Civil War, most to literally fight for their freedom. These men were putting everything on the line for a future for their families and descendants. Source.

Edit: To the people who are triggered and saying there are white men who also put their life on the line you are correct. But it's absolutely pathetic that you can't appreciate the sacrifices of these men (who at the time were viewed by their own country as 3/5th of a man) without feeling butt hurt that they're not white.

They do exist. Nobody talks about statues unless they’re controversial, but there are statues honoring black soldiers during the civil war. In case anyone wants to visit them and support the parks that DON’T honor those who fought against the US:
