Matt Ruff’s Horror Novel “Lovecraft Country” Will Be Turned Into a Series by “Get Out” Director Jordan Peele.

The 2016 release of Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff was an epic thriller detailing how African-Americans dealt with both overt and covert racism in the 1950s.

In it, the protagonists travel across the country in order to find the main character’s father, who they believe has been kidnapped by a racist secret society.

As a novel, it incorporates themes common in legendary writer H.P. Lovecraft’s novels with the social situation present in 1950s America.

Back in May, “Get Out” director Jordan Peele discussed how he was being brought on to help direct an adaptation of the film.

If the timeline for novel to series adaptations for HBO stays the same for “Lovecraft Country”, we should expect to see the series make its debut in late 2018 or early 2019.

Peele is currently working on a “Police Academy” reboot along with a featured role in Evan Marlowe’s upcoming film “Abruptio”. »
