Obviously, all of this is true, but if Obsidian had needed to develop FONV from scratch, they'd probably not have been able to do it. FO3 was what it needed to be to make it across the finish line, and FONV was enabled to be what it was by that success. No game developer has infinite resources, and where you have to devote resources to making the game engine, you necessarily lose resources to devote to story development. Therefore, although of course NV is more complex and impressive story-wise, 3 should rightly get a lot of credit for laying the foundation for it.

Why have you simplified the factions in Fallout 3 so egregiously while including every single tiny faction from New Vegas? If you're going to include things such as the Crimson Caravan for NV then you should be including factions such as Reilly's Rangers, Tenpenny, Underworld, and the Brotherhood Outcasts to name a few.

Also, so many of these points are just personal opinions; there are plenty of boring companions in NV. Let's not act like Fallout 3 is the only game that makes you the centre of the world, too, especially when New Vegas has you become some kind of Saint of the Mojave who helps almost every faction with their problems.
